Posted By bob smith Do we still need a fire certificate in Scotland for offices, or is it the same as down in England? reliant on risk assessment.

Posted By Brigham To all intents and purposes, the Fire Scotland Act mirrors the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order for England and Wales and as such, there is no need for a Fire Certificate.

Posted By jackw. Hi, Under the new act Fire certificates are no longer a requirement. As you say a fire risk assessment is required. You should note however that a guidance note on fire safety standards in offices in scotland has been produced. Check the Scottish Office Web site or, if you have any relationship with them the local fire safety officer from the fire and rescue service may be able to give you a copy.
Cheers.
