Posted By Clive Lowery Hi all,
can anyone point me in the right direction where I may find the prescribed distance between street lights. (If there is one)!!
The street in question is owned by the Local Parish Council, is residential and leads down to a dead end. It is approximately 400 metres long and currently has two lights at one hundred and three hundred Metres.
Properties on either side of the road are either well set back from the road and/or it is the rear of the property that faces the road.
Thanks in advance
Clive

The road may be unadopted so the lamps are put in to a 'personal' specification
Have you noted that there are less streetlamps on new housing estates that on old ones -saving £ or what?

Posted By Stupendous Man Agree with Bob - the road may not have been adopted by the highway authority.
As for fewer lights on new developments, perhaps street lighting is more effective than years ago - meaning fewer are required?
I am sure someone who know about these sorts of this will tell us...

Posted By Kevin D Forbes Dont know if it is of any help but the road trafic act defines a built up area (30mph Zone) as some where, where the street lights are x distance apart. I cant remeber the exact distance stated.
