Posted By Jamie Mike,
The short answer is no but I had to ask why? As it is a disease of animals not humans. If your concern is the spread of the disease you need to ensure that you follow the farms/labs bio-security measures.

Posted By MICHAEL T Yes, have to agree! What's the point in doing a RA, when DEFRA have already done this by defining the zones and put in control measures. Also as this job is under CDM, shouldn't the client have disclosed this to us in his Pre-Construction Info? If it wasn't apparent when he put this together shouldn't he have informed us later of the hazard and the necessary control measures? Regards Mike

Posted By Robert K Lewis First risk is to ensure that government is kept well away from any decision methinks after the last debacle.
In general terms however you need to look at routes of potential exposure and how then to ensure decontamination of personel, clothing, vehicles and work equipment. Some items may be best treated as disposable and safely disposed of rather than spend many hours attempting decontamination.
Following the recent investigations the maintenance records etc may also provide useful information for any assessment of risk.
