Posted By Scott d Hi All,
I am looking at the requirements for the safety of sectional doors following an incident at a neighbouring factory, where the cable pin fell off and the door fell from a significant height.
I have been advised that they should be inspected and maintained every 4 months, however; I feel that 6 months would be sufficient. I am also keen on having a safety device fitted to the doors and I thought that this would be compulsory.
Can anyone advise me on the requirements; to save me from waiting for and trawling through the British Standard?
Much Appreciated

Posted By Ken O'Donoghue Hi Scott, We had a similar incident here with a roller door. We were referred to EN13241-1 which apparantly covers service interval on doors. A fall arrest is being purposed for each of our doors. Go to http://www.edsf.com/guidelines/guidlines2005.pdffor guidelines on the standard and section A1 page 4 where it clearly shows what you are after. Hope this helps. May have to purchase this standard though. Regards Ken O'D
