Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had a decent working at height risk assessment which they may use for cleaners, who are based on site, which they wouldn't mind me having a look at?

almost all of our external work up to the third floor level is now undertaken from the ground and has therefore removed most of the significant risks from cleaning at height - perhaps you can look at this as a part answer

Your right of course 'Reach & Wash' has eliminated the need to WAH in most situations now (externally); I have a feeling however that Andy may be referring to general internal cleaning duties, the old prehistoric 5'6" rule, in those days it was stand on a chair, use steps, inc top tread, stand on someone's shoulders etc; always amazed me why in fact they didn't just use a handle with a feather mop or cloth on the end for low (ish WAH) cleaning.

Sorry I should have been clearer.

Basically its for cleaners & maintenance guys working on a seating/viewing area.The height from the floor to the balcony 3.55 metres. Which is fine for spectators but seemingly this is a contentious issue for "workers".

We've been round the houses a few times about this & now it seems were going to be ok, however we need sort out some simple work instructions etc for the area in terms of cleaning and repairs and review the current R/A.

Sorry I can't help, would need to see the area and speak to all those involved to complete a workable RA. Do you have a H&S person with some experience in these matters you could call upon?

I saw a similar problem at Wembley, in the end all workers had to erect a safety barrier 1100 high infront of the 800 public one to clean or maintain the seats and wear a harness when working in row's 1 & 2.
