Hi,
Weve been asked to provide a method statement for a piece of shuttering (basically just a straight wall) that were going to be doing for a building contractor. I think that a generic statement would suffice (we can make our own changes on it). Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction, or better still, have a copy which i could take a look at?
thanks.

Nicky,
You should be able to put this together quite easily.
Assuming that no boxing out or lifting (crane) are involved.
1. Cut timber frame to required size using saw/circular saw
2. Cut allform/pour form to reuqired size using etc.
3. Nail ply to frame with 4" nail
4. Offer frame to wall/steel and plumb.
5. Use acro/push pull to plumb frame level.
etc etc, you probably get the gist. Keep the method statement simple and bullet points. remember that the Method Statement is how the operatives are to build the shutter and put it place. The risk assessment should then take into account the hazards introduced in the process.
ie. Cuts/abrasions from saw.
competence in circular saw, electric shock/110v supply, manual handling if the shutters are large.
By all means Email direct if you want/need to chat further. can probably scan and email one we have used but it is probably more than you need. (Building somewhat larger structures)
