Hi all!

Does anyone kindly have any links to any websites or any information themselves of Swimming Pool managers being charged for a serious accident or death due to negligence on there part.

I'm looking to use shock tactics against my manager who seriously needs lessons in H&S

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Quick search on Google brought this up:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/1749010.stm

and also this:

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council Fined £5,000 under HASAWA 1974 s3. 8 year old drowned in a swimming pool. Blindspots created by pool design and insufficient lifeguards on duty. HSE Prosecution Case F140000327 (15/10/03)

Jonathan Enderby Fined £500 under HASAWA 1974 s7. 8 year old drowned in a swimming pool. Lifeguard distracted and failed to see the boy get into difficulties. HSE Prosecution Case F140000328 (15/10/03)

Hope this helps.

No prosecutions but two 'incdeints'

one, key holder and another employee (his wife)was taking their dog to swimming pool out of hours to teach it to swim (only found out while looking a cctv for vandalism).
Employee disciplined (lost job)

Swimming pool used for parties, got a bit wild and became notorious for these parties so had to stop them as children use pool and it wasn't appropriate for them to be in contact with the party revellers.
