Is there any time limit that workers are allowed to work standing. I am referring to an inspection job. Hope somebody could help me here.

No regulation that specifies a time limit. But standing or sitting for long periods is not recommended. Research that shows that standing in a fixed position for more than 4 hours significantly increases risk of back pain. Remember Reg 11 of Workplace (Health Safety and Welfare) Regs - if a part of the job can be done sitting then a suitable seat must be provided.
