Hi
We are holding an internal seminar for our sales reps, I have asked for 20 minutes to give a brief H&S presentations (some of the reps I have not meet yet). I will cover section 7 duties,
Road safety etc

Any other suggestions?, I am also looking for stats i.e car accidents (will check Ropsa, HSE, Have there been any section 7 offenses being prosecuted involving reps?

Bit of a vague remit but all pointer gratefully received

Do you have a driving policy or a drugs and alcohol policy?

Thanks for the response

Lone working, a good one will use it with remote accident reporting.

I have a drugs and alcohol policy and all the reps have been issued with a RA.

I was thinking more of bullet points to use, No of deaths (Company car drivers), any prosecutions, maintaining standards whilst visiting clients (some of which may not have as stringent H&S systems etc

Only 20 minutes so would like to keep it short more of a promoting ideas or thoughts than lecturing

I had a stats quoted at me last week that 98% of all road accidents had some element of human error, 66% of company vehicles will be involved in an accident in any year. I have not verified these.

Sales reps are driven by targets; your cars are driven by sales reps: Don't let the targets drive your vehicles.

Don't know what line of business you are in, but I would say driving safety (check ROSPA site), use of mobiles, use of laptops and RSI, manual handling, lone working..for starters ! If they handle machines, then machine hazards or coshh if they handle chemicals / pharmaceuticals.
