Role. Main contractor & PSCS.
description of project:
Demolition of half existing structure (area a). Construction of new building in area a. Demolition of remaining existing structure and existing carpark (area b). Construction of new (larger)car park area b.
additional info.
Area b is currently occupied by several buisnesses who will continue trading until new building in area a is complete. They will then relocate to area a.
Part of Area b is currently used as a carpark for local traders.
Existing carpark in is constant use by members of the public as shortcut to shopping areas outside site.
Main contractor uses existing carpark for access and deliveries to site.
The work is not phased. Closure of area b is not possible.
Q.Who is responsible for safety of non-construction personnell using or traversing site.
Q. Is this an issue which should have been addressed by PSDP
I hope you can picture my problems and maybe advise.
Regards & Thanks.

Everyone that might affect their safety - including themselves if they are at work at the time.
s3 HSAWA 74 + Management Regs + Tort (Neighbour Principal) + dozens of other regs.

Posted By Tabs Just re-read the Republic Of Ireland bit - but I guess there is the equivelant sections and regs, both RoI and UK seem to be aligned on such principles.
