The company I work for use radiation sources on site, and although low risk, I am now required to develop a site security plan.
I have never requested templates or formats before, but this one has me stumped.
Does anyone out there have a template I can use, as the authorities have given me very little guidance as to what is should contain, or what its format should be in.
Thanks in advance
Barry

Your local constabulary should be able to provide you with a template, you will need to speak to the Anti Terrorist / Counter Terrorist advisor. The form will ask you a series of questions (e.g. on site security arrangements, CCTV coverage, pre-employment employee checks, search procedures etc), you then return it to them. They will assess what you have in place (may ask for copies of procedures etc.) and may even visit, if not done so already.
The entire process, dependant upon where you are based in the country, your level of risk etc varies, we have been working on ours in excess of 4 years, but we are low risk compared to what else is in the area, therefore we are fairly low down on the list.

If you need any further assistance, log in and contact me off forum by email, will then be able to provide a phone number to be contacted on to discuss.

Hope that has helped out.

Hi Barry

Contact your police security adviser, if your site falls within the requirements of the regs, he will give you a document. This document bullet points the subjects and gives examples that may be required. You then detail under the headers what your company's arrangements and fill in the gaps.
This is a restricted documents so I can not outline the headers on this forum.

Ian

A useful site to check would be the 'Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure' at www.cpni.gov.uk where there is a lot of information and guidance on the topic you are looking at.

Hope this helps.

Andy
