Posted By Scott d Hi All, I am looking for an RPS course which is taking place in the next few weeks. I have scoured the internet and only seem to find courses taking place in the New Year. Any help would be much appreciated. Scott

Posted By Pam Williamson Hello Scott, If you are in education you can try CLEAPPS. A teacher who teaches A - level Physics can act as an RPS. Don't forget you will also need a RPA (Radiation Protection Adviser). Difficult to source unless you pay a lot of money for their limited services! Pam

Posted By Scott d Hi Pam/Taff, Unfortunately I am not in education and I tried to get on the course being run by the HPA this week but it was full. They are not running another course until February, which may be too late. Many Thanks, Scott

Posted By Scott d Hi Ian, The course this month is for sealed sources and x-rays only and is not relevant to the work I will be doing. Thanks for the response, Scott

Posted By John Donaldson A number of Universities run their own RPS Courses and also use private providers. I you wish I can put out an enquiry for you via the Association of University Radiation Protection Officers (AURPO)

Posted By Scott d Hi John, Thanks for the offer, it is much appreciated, however; I have now managed to find a company who is running courses on a monthly basis, so I should now be sorted. Thanks to all who have offered their help, Scott

Posted By Jim Walker We use Nukem. Usually a 2-3 day course & refresher every 2 years, however we are upper end of risk. Shudder to think that a school physics teacher has the knowledge to do this. Maybe LAs have a different version of IRR to me.
