Posted By Brenda H Does anyone have an example 'project plan' I could have?
I have to put something together outlining H&S deficiencies in the company. I know what I want to put in it, just not sure how to structure it!
Thanks

Posted By Ron Hunter I guess you want to put a report together for senior management as to how these deficiencies could be addressed?
First make sure that you have clear evidence to support that the areas do need to be addressed.
Discuss the pros of implementing improvements and the cons of allowing things to continue in both human and business terms.(What's the worst that can happen? What can we expect to gain if we change our ways?).
Propose a series of objectives based on SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) to ensure that at least a step-change improvement can be achieved.
The key issue will usually be that of resources, both human and financial, to allow things to improve. It may help to explore some "ballpark" tentative figures for your report. (Of course, some improvements can cost nothing!).
Worker involvement, improved safety tours, toolbox talks, training and refreshers are all things that can be globally applied to improved management of any risk.
Without the specifics of your business and the risks it's difficult to go further, however the HSE website has a wealth of info and guidance on how improvements can be implemented.

Posted By Brenda H Thanks Ron that's helpful.
Have you got any suggestions on 'headings' in the report?

Posted By Ron Hunter C'mon Brenda - you can do that!
Subject (the problem)/Background (to the problem)/ Proposals (to remedy - short/medium/long term)/Cost Benefit Analysis/Conclusions/Recommendations.
And if you really want them to bite, make them think that it was all their idea!! ;-)
