We have a couple of A frames on which we stack pallets of steel. A pallet of steel weighs approx 1 ton, and I have seen 3 or 4 packs stacked on. These A frames have been in use for about 10 years. After a risk assessment of the area they are in,I noticed that they had no safe working load marked on them, also we have no load test certificate. My questions are
1 After all this time could we mark a SWL of one tonne on them, or does it need a specialist company to do this
2 If we make work benches should they also be load tested

Many thanks
