Posted By John J How often, if at all, is refresher training required on FLTs? We currently carry out refreshers every 3 years as a matter of course but I'm trying to identify the basis of this and I can't seem to find anything, Regards, John

Posted By David Whaley John,
I think you will find that three years is the refresher period recommended by the training associations. There is a requirement to have the refresher training in place, but no specific interval.
Because of the large number of drivers we have, it is a logistical nightmare to carry out the training every three year, we have opted for five years. If you decide to opt for a longer period make sure you can justify it on safety grounds not just financial.

Posted By GeoffB4 If the FLT drivers require refresher training (3, 5 years whatever) then it follows the company drivers (cars, vans etc) must also require refresher training.
How often do you think this should be carried out?
