The paper-based CPD scheme, which is currently in its final cycle requires 20 points over a two year period. A point represents approximately a half day or 3-4 hours. In the new on-line system 30 credits over a three year cycle are required, although this is more of a rolling programme so the cycles are more variable, the only fixed time scale being for the development plan (3 credits over 3 years). Otherwise credits should be allocated in a similar way to previously. However, there is more flexibility and a particularly useful piece of development can be give up to three credits, irrespective of length. There are some tips given with the scheme in the MyIOSH portal.

For current MIOSH completing their paper based cycle it is necessary to send in your summary sheet now or at the very latest the end of February. This is your final chance to transfer to CMIOSH and after this the transitional arrangements will close. I understand that the total points allocated would be in line with the previous figures stated (i.e. 10-15 and 5 respectively).

However you can only allocate up to 3 points per module on the electronic system. You will therefore need to split the course into modules to do this.
