I have been involved in H&S at various levels since the early 1990s:

1. Producing Safety Plans & Risk Assessments for work activities involving people going onto public land & private land doing scientific research.

2. Producing Risk Assessments for scientific studies in Labs connected with a Business Group within a Department over 3 years.

3. Since 01 May 07 I have been actively producing Risk Assessments and SSOW for up to 15 Labs within a new Department.

Also this year I studied for the NEBOSH NGC (Level3) in Occupational Health and Safety and have been awarded a Credit Grade.

I would like advice on joining IOSH; would this type of background allow me to submit for Technician IOSH?

I omitted to add that my role is currently the Lab Facility Manager and that i always assume the role of Safety Officer for the external work activities.

Steve,

Have you checked out the "about membership" tag near top left column of this page?

Also, I have always found the membership team at IOSH HQ to be very helpful. Their contact details can be found using the "Contact us" tag in the IOSH header (above)

Hope this helps and good luck

Martyn,

Yes I have had a look but not entirely sure what is required! I take your point about telephoning IOSH and talking to somebody at HQ.

Thanks for your input.
