Colleagues I am tasked with getting a top ten safety issues together for a construction site. I'm sure this has been done before any tips or guidance? It can be more than ten if need be.

dermatitus from concrete
tools and PUWER
manual handling - bricks to glass
Weills disease
These days you also have to consider Enviro issues as well.

In addition to the above, you should also consider the following.
Check the HSE website stats for their incident stats and additionally and perhaps most importantly as this is specifically for your sites. Check your incident records and inspection / audit records for the last 12 months.

Or - you could come at this from another angle - instead of looking for the top ten dangers (which others seem to be doing) you could look for safety items -
1 The Principal Contractor's attitude
2 The Foreman's eyes (does that count as two?)
3 The CDMC's thoroughness
4 The Client's wallet
5 The Workers' training
6 The Security fence
7 The segregated traffic routes
8 The fully developed construction phase plan
9 The designer's competence
10 The site culture.
Just a thought!

Typically the thread is losing the plot.
It's a list of must have safety basics on construction. I'm sure the HSE produced something.

surely it all depends on the specifics of the site and the particular project.
For example asbestos is not an issue if there is no asbestos on the site - but if there is, it will depend on what the interaction with it is.
