I'd imagine central government under a freedom of information request.

they used to on their website, they removed it recently.

Try a search on yell.co.uk for the area office you are looking for.

Hi again Sean,
Sorry to keep giving info in dribs and drabs but I just noticed this in the HSC Business Plan for 2007/08

"The full-time equivalent staff number (including HSL) at 1 April 2006 was 3811. The
planned number at 1 April 2007 is 3580, and at 1 April 2008 it is 3469."

I am sure you know varous organisations have expressed concern at the effective cut-backs in resources for the HSE but that is probably a matter for a separate thread.

You may wish to modify your question:

How many Inspectors work in policy or HQ roles and how many carry out actual inspections and investigations and how many are work place advisors?

Steve,

Is that not covered in my original question?

"Anyone know where i can find the number of HSE & LA inspectors there are currently?"

I did not ask for how many staff work for the HSE.

The reason i need this information is for an assignment i am working on at the moment.
