I have been tasked with a marketing Health and safety on our manufacturing site, to keep the awareness on safety high. We do give aways and crosswords and quizzes all with prises and awards. I am now getting low on ideas and would be grateful for any advice or new ideas, even info on were i can get some new material.

I'd put a system forward at my last place, alas they never saw it through after I left. It was based on the points make prizes ethos. A selection of H&S related goodies to select from ( Timberland safety shoes, ear defenders with radios fitted etc). To get points you had to participate in a range of events - joining in a safety audit, reporting a safety hazard etc. The union and mgt were supportive as it was about rewarding the positives - we all know how nice it is to be rewarded for the doing the right thing!

Dell, so the Coke is going flat eh? I would guess you know all the angles anyway but have you tried the "alternative" safety competitions.
Risk assessing the ridiculous, prize for the funniest responses. You could trawl some of the threads on here for ideas:):):)
The alternative safety audit, the questions to really ask or the things to really look for. Again prizes for the funniest or most apt.
50 ways to misuse your PPE and why none of them would be a good idea.
A variation on the how many elephants in a mini. How many different pieces of ppe can you get on one person at the same time. Pictures for the notice board are mandatory of course and if it is a manager being dressed up so much the better.
My subtle(??)point being that the competitions don't always have to be formal or have a "management" message to successfully promote safety, the fun ones are those that get remembered. Clearly my suggestions may be totally off the wall for your business but these and similar have worked for me in the past. Hope it helps to stir your thoughts.

Are you saying that because this guy is trying to use innovative and user friendly ways to obtain buy-in and engagement form the employees; he is not competent. I wish I had an individual who has cracking ideas like this. He is obviously going the extra mile to foster our profession in a better light
I have been a Safety Professional for 20 years and am currently studying for my Msc, I for one applaude this guy for trying to make a much decried profession more approachable.
He who lives in glass house should not throw stones.
