A happy New Year to you all. My first posting this year.

I'm looking to make a business case for a programme of fire risk assessment for the communal areas of residential housing and supported housing. Blocks vary widely and include: 4 in a block; 8/10 in block; 10 storey tower blocks too.

I'm trying to get an idea of what the likely costs are.

Can anyone share their experience of what the typical costs are for an assessment / block of assessments and of how these were costed. I'd be interested to hear too of any recommendations of consultants that devised a successful programme of assessments and of how these were prioritised.

Please feel free to mail me privately. I recognise that some details provided may be commercially sensitive. I can assure that I would treat any information received with the utmost confidentiality.

Thanks in anticipation.

Thomas

Thomas,

Throw in my tuppence worth, there are loads of ?consultants out there who will claim that they can do this for you! and their costs will vary!

That said YOU MUST and I cant stress this enough that you will have to make yourself satisfied that these people can 'do what it says on the tin' and do not go by costs alone. The Contract Spec must be specific and tailored to what you require.
