Good Afternoon,
Could anybody provide suggestions / recommendations as to how to minimise the amount of waste materials a company may incur?
some of the materials are combustible and require a third party contractor to dispose of, however I'm hoping for a more efficient method of dealing with the products that will be more cost effective and environmentally safe?

Two main avenues you need to explore.
1. Generate less during the process in the first place. This may include recycling internally back into the process where possible.
2. Investigate the recycling or recovery of the waste you do generate to reduce the amount going to landfill.
Segregation of your different waste streams is key to recycling/recovery so take a look at the different types and classifications of your waste.
Not really able to help more unless you give us some idea what kind of materials you are talking about.

Look also at your process efficiency.
Without a better description of your waste and process it is impossible to really give good advice.

Thank you all for your information,
our process is actually a distribution center,
so actual materials are simply stored the way we receive them and then distributed according to order!
we do segregate waste materials and recycle what possible and also donate a percentage to charity,
However we are aiming to improve on last year, but unfortunately becoming limited on solutions,
I cannot disclose too much information on the products due to the security of the business.

Recover energy by such processes as plasma gasification rather than incineration.

there are a number of organisations that recover other peoples wastes as a raw material for their own, but without any more info its difficult to do so, animal, mineral or vegetable? What location are you in?
