Posted By Danc Hi All
We manufacture practise drop bombs (no explosives etc just outer shell) and we have been asked by a customer to develop a COSHH data sheet for the product.
Just wondering if any one had any experience/examples of anything similar as this is the first time anyone has ever asked.
Thanks in advance Dan

I assume that you have been asked for a material safety data sheet but, since you are making a solid object, what is the risk that the customer is concerned about?

Posted By David Bannister Dan, looks like the asker is confused.
A data sheet would normally be required for transporting hazardous materials (eg corrosive, explosive, irritant etc) and this is frequently used as a basis for carrying out a risk assessment to comply with the COSHH Regs.
A lump of iron does not need either a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or to be the subject of a COSHH Assessment as it does not possess any of the properties that make it hazardous to health as defined in the Regs.
