Today's Metro (sorry those of you outside the Metro areas, but I added a link) carries a story where the toy gun used in the fight scenes of a pantomime is being kept in locked cupboards between shows!

They called in the police to ensure all the "weapons" were safe!

http://www.metro.co.uk/n...e_id=84430&in_page_id=34

And they are blaming the HSE ! Apparently the entertainment info sheet 20 has led to this bizarre conclusion.

*sigh* even when people are given information they can be ridiculous!

For goodness sake Britain, hurry up and make H&S a regulated profession! Keep the inappropriate people away from such decision-making posts.

Reading the Metro article, there's no mention of the person/persons who have apparently misapplied the guidance given in HSE Entertainment Information Sheet 20. They are the real culprits in the story, but obviously the journalist(!) who wrote the story has chosen to ignore this, and once again place the blame squarely with the HSE. The quote from the 'HSE spokesman' doesn't really do much to clarify the situation either.
