Posted By Chris Defraine I hoping someone will be able to help! I am the Health and Safety manager for a large, high risk company that previously have done little health monitoring. Im looking at changing this, mainly by employing a company to come in 3 days per month and carry out the screening and do other tests as required. However i want to provide them with a suitable area to carry out the monitoring, this will also double as a designated first aid room. Are the any grants available for the provision of health surveillance and associated equipment? Thanks Chris

Posted By Ian G Hutchings Hi Chris I am not sure about grants, it may depend on where you are located, as these can often be related to this. I am aware of organisations that provide a vehicle with all the kit on and trained people to provide the testing if this helps. Please drop me an email via the link if I can help. Another contact may be via your regional development agency regarding funding, or possibly some sort of sponsorship. All the best Ian

Posted By nspencer I couldn't get the link to attach so I've sent an e-mail. Equipment should be provided by the OH company.

Posted By helen morgan Chris The company coming in, if sufficiently motivated, may offer an equipment-inclusive fee as we have done. This also leaves obligation for proper maintenance & calibration etc firmly with them, not your company. As for grants - I have come across local arrangements but not any national initiatives with DTI for instance. Will let you know if I do. Helen Helix Health Management

Posted By Chris Defraine Thank you all for the replies. I didn’t think there had been any, as I have not received an email letting me know. However seeing all the people trying to email me has made me realise my email was still for my old company. I have now changed it to my current address. I have done some digging and still nothing nationally or locally, looks like I am onto a looser and may have to bite the bullet and buy it out right.... Thanks again, Chris
