Posted By Barrie (Badger) Etter I have just been informed that my company has bought a second hand flt and removed the cab cage. The removal was necessitated by the storage hut it will be parked in and the lifting process will not be any higher than off the back of a delivery vehicle (lorry flatbed). Q1 Is there any mandatory requirement for the cab cage to be present? Q2 If not as a precaution would the issuing of a 'builders' hard hat be suitable and sufficient? Q3 I'm aware of the Supply of Equipment Regs but what if any parts of this purchase relates to it and what documentation should I be asking for from the dept who acquired the flt? Badger

Posted By The toecap I would assume that the type of FLT you mention requires the cage as part of Roll over protection. Check the documents that came with the FLT or do a web search for the manufacturers instruction. I wonder if there is a seat belt fitted?
