Posted By GavinR Hi Guys, I am writing to request some information regarding the guarding of Manual Milling Machines. We are currently reviewing guarding of these machines and need advice for installation of guards that would be suitable for: 1)Vertical Milling operations 2)Horizontal Milling Operations 3)Compound Angle Milling Operations Standard swivel guards, table guards and cutter guards cannot be used due to the variety of jobs completed on the machines. We have contacted a guarding specialist and still having very little success. Has anyone can across this problem before and could maybe help? Work cannot be completed on the fully enclosed CNC milling machines due to the delicate and 'feel of touch' skill required for the designated works on these mills. CNCs don't give the operator any indication or feeling for the works so increasing the potential for damage and scrapping of very expensive product. Thank you for your help.
