Posted By Sue hogan I have been asked to carry out a site audit of a Golf course and club house. I have not carried out one for this type of venue before so would appreciate any advise you could give me including checklists etc. I have been informed that there is no evidence of audits, risk assessments or machinary inspections carried out previously. Many thanks for your help.

Posted By MT You should have a look at this band new guidance, which replaces the previous HSE guidance on golf courses: http://www.the-gtc.co.uk/health_safety.php

Posted By GavinR Hi Sue, Might sound a silly question but i take it you are insured to provide the golf course with such a service as a consultant? If I'm stating the obvious i apologise and would suggest you look at HSG79 Health and safety in golf course management and maintenance. Should be a good starting place I'd imagine. Cheers

Posted By Raymond Rapp Sue Golf courses normally have the same h&s issues as most manufacturing/engineering/maintenance based companies, with the added catering and bar issues. The most problematic issues are on-course maintenance with specialist machinery and specific chemical eg fertilisers. I have some h&s stuff on my home computer for golf courses that I will dig out and send to you. Meanwhile, I saw a comprehensive h&s checklist on the R&A golf website some while ago. Ray

Posted By MT Why? Are you having problems accessing it? It's a pdf, so if the problem is that you don't have Acrobat reader, then you won't be able to read it when it's e-mailed.
