Posted By Jane Blunt Reading your post I am unsure of what you are asking for, and wonder if it is one of the pictures of the erection of the Empire State Building - try Google image using the phrase 'empire state building workers' The picture that your posting conjours up is the row of men sitting on a girder having their lunch. Posted By patrick carr Hi Naomi I used those pictures, included in my powerpoint presentation, for a "A construction workers guide to working at height", I googled them. info on the construction of the Empire state building. built ahead of schedule,1yr 45 days. 7 million man-hours. 3,400 workers at peak time. rumours of 100s of fatalities. official records 5 fatalities. 1 worker hit by a truck, 1 fell down a elevator shaft, 1 fell down a hoist tower, 1 killed in the blasting area and 1 worker fell off the scaffolding.

There's some fascinating pictures here - http://www.nypl.org/rese...hinex/empire/empire.html Type 'lewis hine rockefeller picture' into Google and the one you specifically want will come up at the top of the page. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't the Empire State but the Rockefeller Centre. Some of his pictures of child labourers are particularly haunting.
