I think it would depend on what you wish to be able to train.
You might need to be a bit more specific.

I think it would be useful in my position to provide training to employees, so courses like manual handling... confined spaces... work at height anything which may be good for them.

There are many companies that run "Train the Trainer" courses which are also IOSH approved. It could be worth speaking to IOSH direct or thumb through the SHP for traning providers of various courses.
Hope this helps

Several places also run, manual handling train the trainer, so you can get the train the trainer as well as manual handling in one. Advice is to check out the provider and make sure they're a good one though.

You could try your local college who will run a 730.7 teaching course and then onto the second year to complete your certificate in education (Cert Ed) as I did for a starting point.
It will open a range of opportunity doors for you.
I went to night school to obtain mine but it was not overnight and had to work hard for it.

Surely being an expert on the subjects you are going to teach is more useful than a teaching method?

Philip,
How many ivory tower professors cannot communicate their understanding of a subject?
Effective teaching is a skill that very few are born with.
Howeber I do agree with you that an understanding and passion ofr the subject matter is paramount

i agree with you taff but first you need something to teach.
But the same goes just because you have been on a teaching course doesn't mean you can teach any subject
Or you can try you just won't be any good at it.

"courses like manual handling... confined spaces... work at height anything which may be good for them."
do you know anything about these subjects to start with?
or are you going to get trained first then pass down the information to employees. assuming you can remember everything you were taught and are able to answer any question an employee may ask.
