Posted By RP How long does a Ch8 last? this much depends upon which bits you are working to. The mentioned qualifications above may not relate to your needs as they include other units done over 4-7 days. It lasts as long as people are competent or if there are significant changes to codes of practice or Ch8. What area of work are you involved in?

Posted By Sean Brennan I think People may have this wrong. Chapter 8 is the set up of Tarffic management and this is only a small element of the NRSWA course. It is also dependent on what type of roads you are working on, it maybe that you are working on roads over 50MPH in which case you may need to attend a course known s 12B. UK road services at Manchester would be able to help you out. NRSWA course is about reinstatement in the carriageway and footpaths and it deals a lot with compaction and materials for different classes of roads, like i said the chapter 8 phase of the course is only a small element. Hope this helps Sean

Posted By Bryan Goldsmith 16052 Bob, Depending upon what you are doing and the type of road you are working on, the minimum in order to obtain a 'Streetworks ticket' are cmpletion of the Signing, Guarding and Lighting module, Service / Cable avoidance (both compulsory) and at least one other unit. There are separete Operatives and Supervisor programmes. If you 'google' HAUC or 'Streetworks'. You should hit some sources of info including the Sector 12a/b/c/d for high speed roads and road furniture works. Regards Bryan
