I am considering the IEMA Associate Membership Course in Environmental Management by distance learning. Has anyone gone down this route as opposed to the 10 day Associated Certificate Course in Environmental Management. Does anyone have any advice or comments regarding these courses.

I did the NCFE in environmental management. Contact the environemnt accademy. I am afraid you'll have to google them. They are based in Newcastle North east area. They are quite good at getting you through the course. They know there stuff. If you get stuck drop me a mail and i'l see if i can find any past comms

Bath Uni provide a good distance learning experience at a reasonable cost, I undertook my first official environmental qualifications there years ago
Whilst distance learning has possibilities for coping etc, as against other types of learning don't forget that you may get through the basic course with what you provide as learning evidence but be challenged in the future by the EA, court etc re the advice etc that you may have provided, so make sure you learn / know your subject areas
best of luck
