Posted By Mark Bywater Hi guys, Just a quickie on PTW. We've just been taken over by a smaller company that doesn't have a PTW system. We do, but it's ragged round the edges because it was run by our much larger previous owners and little effort was put in by managers to run the system properly. I've been asked to get a system up and running for the new company (8 sites) asap. I was wondering if anyone had any simple PTW forms for hot work, isolation, pressure systems, WAH etc to share to get me going a bit quicker...please? Also what are your views on the general permit? The one we have is mainly about protecting our products (confectionery) and not about control measures that have to be used. I'm considering ditching it unless someone can persuade me otherwise. I suppose it did give some element of contractor control though. All and any views welcome. Thanks, Mark

Posted By Philip McAleenan Mark, You can obtain PtoW forms at this link, http://www.web-safety.co...documentation/permit.doc These forms are copyleft so you can adapt them to your own specific needs. Copyleft terms are on the bottom bar of the homepage, regards, Philip

Posted By Mitch Mark, If you are going to introduce an appropriate PTW system, which it sounds like why not replace the General Permit with a SSoW/MS for contractors and employees to protect the products?

Posted By Mike Nixon Please see samples on separate e-mail. Control of contractors needs to be thorough but fair in proportion to the risks involved.
