Hi Folks
I am carrying out coshh assessments for gases used in the work place. I have the msds for the gases and have been happily using the coshh essentials site to implement our data.
However when I come to the gases it wont except the parameters of the cylinders.
Has anybody encountered this problem and what have you done to record your data.

Neither acetylene nor oxygen have WELs; the main concern is fire and explosion. Acetylene is a simple asphyxiant but, mishandled, can be a significant fire and explosion risk; the main concern with oxygen is enrichment of the atmosphere giving rise to increased fire and explosion risk with combustible materials.
In both cases, there is a significant explosion risk if the cylinders are involved in a fire.

Robert agree with Paul, particularly watch mixing oil & grease with oxygen (very very explosive!) If you are struggling with the contuter try a manual assessment, at least you will have a record that you have considered the dangers,
