Posted By Lukasz I am looking for Asbestos Awareness course but specified that employee will be working on landfill sites. I am opinion that general Asbestos Awareness are not perfectly suitable to work on landfill sites. What are your opinions? Thanks

Posted By Dave Wilson Lukasz, any employee who is likelly to be exposed to asbestos must undergo asbestos Awareness training. The only scenario where I see this not applying is where persons are only working on 'new build' or buildings built after 2000.

Posted By NickW Do you mean work on a hazardous waste landfill site? A general asbestos awareness course conducted by a specialist provider, such as ones that we offer are likely to tick the boxes as far as general awareness is concerned, however as for any trade, a bit of job-specific training, conducted in-house will be required to reinforce the general awareness training. I would recommend that you use a UKATA (UK Asbestos Training Association) audited provider.

Posted By Lukasz Thank you all for responses. Dave I am not saying that we do not want to do that course, but that it may be not perfectly designed for installation engineers working on landfill sites as it covers mainly things where you may encounter asbestos in building.

Posted By Lukasz Yes Dave I understand however what if nobody could give me 100% assurance that there is no Asbestos or history of wastes is not known... as well our employees works in other countries and there Health & Safety standards are: let's say- on one site we encountered hospital wastes in the past...

Posted By Robert K Lewis Lukasz A number of people including DW and myself can develop bespoke courses - it is often what I prefer to do as it makes thetraining more effective. But these sorts of questions cannot be dealt with on public forums, you will need to email one of us for fuller discussions Bob
