Posted By SAFE T I would really like to provide free workplace safety briefings to school leavers in the secondary schools in my local area. Has anyone undertaken this type of work? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is their anything I need to be aware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation of your help.

Posted By Kevin McAughrey Hi there, An excellent idea if I may add, as young persons are usually at greater risk than most. I would start by contacting your local goverment / Education Dep, as you will find that there are little details to consider, such as you will also need a Disclosure no doubt.

Posted By D H A really good idea - kids should get the workplace safety training before they leave school. I witnessed a fatality a few weeks after starting a job at 16 Next day was tasked with the job of washing up what I was told was mess - it was blood and gore! I was young (as we all were) but the fact remains that young people will react strongly to someone putting a bit of paper in the wrong bin than some one working unsafely. This is because the Environment is always in the news. We need to get Health and Safety as a core subject into the schools before they leave in my humble opinion. Dave
