Opinions on some planned works in a confined space.

Work is to be done in a vessel that is used for storing causting in a CIP clean. The job is to do some Crack Detect work, initially covering the internal walls with Ardrox 970-p23, then using a UV light, then doing the necessary welding.

What would your proposed method of work entail? I am having a bar put in place across the entry hole to allow for a harness to be attached as a method of escape, 2 guys assisting and so on. I am now looking at ventilation issues and necessity of respiratory gear etc.

Advice and thoughts welcomed to see if they are in line with mine and to anything I/the works planner may have overlooked

Not familiar with the system of work or substances you have described (nor is anyone else by the lack of response) but when I wrote our company confined space procedure I relied on the aforementioned ACOP. I suggest you do the same, assuming no other responses.
