Posted By mark linton I am trying to find information to assist with a major accident hazard assessment exercise relating to generally excepted rates for such things as chemical vessel failures, human failure, people having heart attacks while driving etc, which I have been informed exists -I have tried without success to find some on the internet.
Please could anybody point me in the right direction to a website that might be able to help with this?
Thanks in advance
Mark

Posted By Guderian I would suggest 2 text books for infor about the petro-chem industry
'Loss Control in the Process Industries' by Frank Lees et al - expensive, so get it from your library
Also 'Reliability, Maintainability and Risk' 6th Ed by ? Smith, published by Butterworth Heineman - much cheaper, I would guess £25 - but has tables in with human factor stats and component failures etc - all generic but ok.
Difficult to get hold of such info, unless working for a big multi-national, even then they tend to keep it close, as reliability info can be used for commercial gain etc
