Hi,

I have to carry out a risk assessment on a pregnant employee who works as a sales rep. doing a lot of driving. Any information would be much appreciated.

You have to ensure that your safe systems of work cater for the expectant (and later new) mother.
Each pregnancy has to be to be considered - everyone is different, and most are trouble free. The first trimester, and probably most of the second (assuming no medical issues) should not affect driving, but there may well be an increasing requirement for more frequent comfort & rest stops.
My advice? Go speak to the employee!

I try not to employ women of "child-bearing age". All the ladies that work for me are of a "certain" age, ie, 50+. Saves a lot of grief as I've fallen for this many times in the past.

It's just not worth the aggro these days.

What do you have in your contract a menopause clause? Why employ anybody if it's too much aggro?
