Posted By Robert Hayes Does anyone have any experience in developing a safe system of work for the use of firearms (12bore shotgun/.22 air rifles) for estate management activities?
Particular area of concern is the close proximity of public rights of way.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Posted By Chris Jerman Robert, I'd be happy to talk you through this. I'm the Chair of a gun club, a qualified RCO (Range Conducting Officer) experienced shooter and trainer and we have an Estate plus 2 golf courses within the company that we shoot over. Also hold level 2 DCS and I'm registered 'fit and competent' with the Deer Commission for Scotland.
Touch busy today, but if you PM me, I'll get to you later on, tonight.
I'll need a few more details as well.
Chris Jerman

Not quite H&S but would also check up on the VCRA especially given the comment about "Particular area of concern is the close proximity of public rights of way."
There have been additional restrictions for some groups under this legislation, there may be additional restrictions on yourself, your local firearms officer would be a good source of information.
