Does anyone use software for recording accidents which they can recommend. I am looking for something that can run over a network and send out alerts informing key personnel that an accident has been registered.

Kind regards

Hi Dave,
I havn't come across a software based accident reporter yet. But its a smart thing to have.
We have intranet risk assessor software that has the same concept of doing and recording assessments on pre-defined criterias and do it across multiple sites.
If you want I can talk to our developing team if they can do a Accident Reporter along the same lines?
Checkout our Safety Media site for more info.LIve Help will take you straight to techie guys.

Dave,

have sent an e-mail about our reporting system which alerts managers as per your requirements, although it has been developed for a local authority environment

There are quite a few out there, I suspect a goggle search on accident reporting software might start you on the track to identifying what you are looking for.

I have just downloaded a free accident reporting / investigation from the SHE website , and on initial glance it looks fairly good - and it's free!

we use 'Assessnet' (www.assessnet.co.uk) which is an online system - so you can log on and enter the accident details from any internet PC. We signed up to this starting 1 October 07 and it is a very useful tool for a H&S Manager. For example, I can search for slips trips and falls, open up the individual accident forms and see what people are doing to prevent re-occurrence. If they are not doing enough, I will contact them or make sure they are prioritised for my internal audits. It also generates graphs which are useful for identifying trends and enabling our senior managers to set H&S objectives.

Hi Dave,

I created a system using tools within Sharepoint, which is an intranet tool bundled with Microsoft Server 2003. if you have access to this I could help you set it up.

The best I've found (and I've done a mountain of independent research) is OSHENS from Optima, scalable, lots of reporting, alerts/triggers, and very user friendly.
