Posted By PDA Thanks for your help over the past few days on the subject. After consideration with the advice on here and provided by the HSE we are in a position to proceed with the works as the correct system of work and risk assessment are in place. However, last point on the system of work - disposal. I have stated that the pigeon waste is to be bagged, and then double bagged, so to further combat any excrement which may come out of the hole of single back. Where now do we dispose of the waste? Can it be placed in an everyday household bin? or does it need to be carefully disposed of and i better contact the Environment people?

Posted By Paul Leadbetter All non-domestic waste is controlled waste; it cannot be mixed with domestic waste and must be disposed of through a licensed waste disposal contractor. Paul

Posted By DavidW Pigeon waste is also likley to be hazardous waste. Have a look at the European Waste Catalogue for the 6 figure code. This will also confirm whether or not it is hazardous. If so it will need a consignment note. Unless it is coming from your own house it is definatley controlled waste at the very least and will need a transfer note and proper disposal.
