Posted By Jason McQueen Morning all, We have a number of machines that have pull cords as emergency stops. Im looking for a way of marking these as such. Ideally I'd like a cable tie sort of thing with 'Emergency Stop' printed on them but Im having difficulty finding something suitable in the usual places. Does anyone know of anything suiable?

Posted By Bob Baynes We have had small signs made up of "sandwich" plastic type where the letters are engraved through one layer to reveal a different colour beneath. Two holes top and bottom, to thread them on the cord. We have also used ping-pong balls, painted green, pierced and threaded up the cord to make them more visible, two or three are sufficient. Both of these are light enough not to activate the trip even when combined on the same cord.

Posted By Ian Blenkharn Floor length pull cords for emergency call systems used in the home, care homes and hospitals etc are often fitted with a 3" or 4" plastic handle that helps arthritic fingers get hold to summon assistance. Those handles are available in various colours though obviously red if most popular. The same cords mounted in more public areas have an additional identifier made from a plastic tab threaded onto the cord. These are similar to the identifying tabs threaded onto cables etc, but larger, red and marked 'emergency'. Those I have seen are 2" wide by 8" long. The pull cord threads through holes at top and bottom, with embossed wording visible in the space between. Those may suffice for your purpose. Look for suppliers of home or disability assistance equipment etc
