I need some clarification please. A storage heater fell on a member of staff. He went to the GP after the incident, the GP referred him to the hospital. The hospital confirmed that he'd chipped a bone in the left ankle. However he went backt to work the next day, and he has taken no time off since the incident occurred on the 15 Sept.
Would you report?
I cannot find anything on chipped bones under RIDDOR!
Regards
Abs

Yes, according to the ACOP it is classed as a fracture under schedule 1 and includes a break, crack or chip.

Hi Sharon i have already read this, hence the start of my thread. The HSE page discusses fractures, however i am loking for specific info on chips as it was mentioned this was classed as a fracture under an ACOP.
I need to know the name of this ACOP.
Thanks

The ACOP is called "A guide to the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995" (L73)
This link should take you to the ACOP
