This short but informative link may help:
http://www.eurofound.eur...EALTHANDSAFETYLAW-NL.htm
My parent company are Dutch based, and when I get involved in European projects, I find the Netherlands somewhat of a nightmare to apply legislation/guidance etc to the task/process etc.
Where you say a 'machinery installation project' what initial cause for concern do you have? Perhaps an equivalent to CDM was on your mind?
If you could give a tad more information I may be able to apply your enquiry regarding this project directly to official information within the Netherlands and offer some sources for you to read up on.

Thanks CFT
We are installing a food process line for a project duration of 12 weeks the problem I have is that I am a registered CDM-c in the UK and I am trying to make sure that if this needs reporting that I do that and keep things right.
Thanks for the help

Specifically I would recommend you look at the 'new' working conditions Act 2007 which does actually focus on general H&S matters unlike the 80's version and the 1919 (or close) international labour Act.
The Dutch Safety and Health Act (Arbowet) contains a code of conduct for safety & health policy, and may not be that helpful but worth further investigation.
An enquiry here;
http://www.netherlands-e...g.uk/home/index.php?i=71
May also be helpful but not guaranteed. I found generally that the emphasis was on 'health' with lots of references to OEL's and epidemiological studies mainly instigated by Brussels so no surprises there then;-)
I have not actually found anything within the Netherlands to rival the UK in terms of H&S so certainly as best practice you would likely exceed the minimum standards by a mile if you opted for UK ledge as best practice.
Responsibility for the enforcement of health and safety law lies specifically with the officials of the Labour Inspectorate,
http://arbeidsinspectie....p_document&link_id=34844
now incorporated into the I-SZW, so again maybe worth an email.
The Ministry do encourage all parties involved in work in the Netherlands to actively increase expertise, so who knows maybe you will take something good with you!.
Good luck

Adrian,
If you need more info on Dutch legislation this site might be helpful.
http://www.overheid.nl/english
The Dutch law covers all of the European directives, and CDM is simular in the Netherlands as in the UK. Slight National differences might be there in reporting.
Regards,
Andre

Hi,
I have been interested in this thread as I started one of my own about 2 weeks ago re working in Holland.
I have received by email a V&G plan written in dutch. Can anyone inform me what this is? It looks like it could contain information for me but I don't know dutch?
I have been asked to provide an English contractor with a construction phase plan for a project in Rotterdam. They want 2 copies, 1 English and 1 dutch.
Can anyone out there offer any help with translating my plan into dutch?
Thanks
