Some of these windows are located internally facing out onto the manufacturing areas, and require the use of a ladder to access them. The substitute long-handled hose/brush system is not appropriate. My question is, should we be issuing a Work at heights PTW for each visit? Has anyone got any experience of this? Posted By bereznikov In this particular area there are no traffic hazards, chemical hazards, or uneven surfaces, its purely a ladder on a flat floor accessing the window approx 4/5metres off the ground. There are no reasonably practicable alternative methods for the cleaning, as there are only 4 window panes that require cleaning, currently taking a combined time of about 5 minutes for them to be cleaned.

Posted By stephen d clarke Hi, Is there some reason why you can't use long-handled hose/brush system, I've seen them used up to the 3rd floor and done at the weekends if there are space issues. Steve
