Posted By JimE Hi y'all,
Just re-writing the company policy and fell at the first hurdle (i won't be riding in the Cheltenham races).
Can anyone suggest better priciples than "All Injuries can be prevented & All accidental losses can be controlled".

I advise that you give yourself a target etc that you can achieve so your mission statement should reflect this

Posted By Warren Fothergill We identify with a header, which is "Our vision and core value is the over-riding Comapnay Name to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of employees, stakeholders, contractors and members of the public'
That sets the tone, then we identify a scope e.g. who it impacts.
Then, the policy, then states our intent to set objectives and their translation and communication to all levels of the organisation; development of behavioural culture change to promote 'good practice' to generate the accident, incident and near miss event reports; reduce risk through effective management; develop, monitor and review all system and process to show continual improvement; provide info, instruction and training to support systems and regulatory requirements; and finally, work with clients, employees, etc. to ensure mutual health and safety benefits.
Its all well and good stating S2 of the HASAWetc. Act, but does it really give you anything?
Hope this helps, oh and don't forget to get it signed!!
