Posted By AMelrose Scenario Person (not employed by organisation) due to attend meeting within building has a heart attack getting out of the taxi. Worked on by paramedics on the pavement outside for over an hour (staff within building witness everything and deal with traumatised family who were with the person). Person taken to hospital but unlikely to regain conciousness (last information obtained). Can I double check - NOT reportable under RIDDOR as; a) Occurred outwith premises b) Not member of staff on business outwith the building or contractor working on building e.g. washing windows etc Did get reception to report using standard form as impact on staff (shocked) and have given advice on breaks and who they can talk to if required.

Posted By AMelrose According to HSE - Death would have been by "natural causes" so could not have forseen this would have happened so NOT reportable.
