Posted By al wood can anyone confirm what level of training is required for the mounting of these type of blades or the use of such blades.
we quite specifically do not use the bonded/carbide type of blades.
thanks in advance.

Posted By Chris Pope I would suggest you provide the same level of training you would normally, after all, despite your level of foresight you cannot guarantee that the individual will not come across some metal they wish to cut and they may use your saw with an abrasive wheel.
In any case you need to be sure they understand the different types of diamond blade, how to sharpen them, how to secure the blade, protect hearing . vibration all the usual matters...they are just as good at cutting flesh as abrasive wheels if you put your foot or hand in the way !

Posted By justgossip We use our own train the trainer to teach the lads how to use the stihl saw.
they are not allowed to change blades.
Changing of blades can only be done by persons who have attended 1/2 day course on abrasive wheel.
So currently aiming to get everyone abrasive wheel trained. Most likely will hire an instructor for the day

Posted By Carolyn L HSG 17 provides good information on training in safe use of abrasive wheels and then for our inhouse training i include the importance of mounting a diamond blade the correct way i.e. the blade is only made to spin in one direction hence the directional arrow. I also cover the safe use and trasportation of the sthil saw itself and refuelling.
