You mention the mezzo and racking together? Can I presume then that the installers have built a floor into the existing racking, using the racking system as support?

A standard mezzanine floor load notice should display the following information: An area loading in pounds/square foot or preferably Kilonewtons/square metre. It should also show a point loading and the load capacity for any hand-operated pallet trucks being used on it. The calculation of the loadings will depend on the columns, main beams and joists but what is often the most critical structural element is the flooring skin. These loadings could be calculated by the manufacturers/supplier of the floor, a structural engineer or other storage equipment survey specialist.
